The engineering method is a series steps that individuals (engineers and developers) use to develop a product or a solution. These products are often used in everyday life, and can solve problems faced by consumers or other users.
The process begins by students defining the issue, researching it, and identifying any requirements. Then they brainstorm and look check it out at how others have solved the same problem.
They then choose the best solution from their list and build a working prototype. This step allows students to see that they have made a lot of progress and can see their solution become a reality.
Students test their prototypes to see if they perform as expected. They can use the prototypes as a tool to improve on their designs.
Before they can have a finished design, they will probably go through several different prototypes. This iterative approach teaches them to never stop improving their designs.
